Somatic Healing
Somatic practices helps heal trauma, reduce anxiety, and release stress by addressing the mind-body connection. Somatic interventions focus on recognizing body sensations and cultivating a sense of inner safety, which can be challenging after trauma or adversity. Through somatic practices, we can learn to regulate our nervous system, leading to greater peace and a sense of overall well-being. Often, somatic work can compliment and accelerate the work of talk therapy.
In a somatic session I help you through practices of awareness, gentle movement, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques to explore and release bodily sensations related to emotions and trauma. Exercises with simple instructions are taught each session so that you have tools to enhance your healing in-between sessions. Small group somatic sessions are also available.
