Hi, I’m Dr. Rachel Hasper. I love what I do and I know how the help of a therapist or coach can change the trajectory of your life, or at the very least, make your days feel better. I run a small-scale, client-centered practice so that I’m able to bring my very best to the people I serve.

My therapeutic style is compassionate, inclusive, and trauma sensitive.

I’m a lifelong student and more skillful clinician because of my dedication to learning. I have a Doctorate degree in Clincal Psychology, am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Life Coach (see my education and credentials here).

I’ve spent the past twenty years helping people through struggle and suffering. I have training in cognitive behavioral therapies, but I know that if feeling better were as simple as changing a thought or behavior, most of us wouldn’t need help. While I still pay attention to how you think, feel, and behave, I’m also listening for the ways relationships, role expectations, environments, and lived experiences contribute to your challenges.

It’s my job to get to the root of what’s causing your suffering and give you the tools you need to heal, cope, or change.

While I have many qualifactions and my education is very instrumental in my ability to help people, I also believe that the support I’ve received through my own personal work is part of what makes me good at what I do. I’ve been on both sides of the couch, so to speak; I recognize that the work of healing, growing, and changing is so much more than a set of therapeutic techniques.

Because of that, my work is holistic and person-centered; I incorporate compassion focused therapy, somatic psychology, dialectical behavior therapy, and principles from attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and internal family systems. I’m both trauma-informed and neurodivergence-informed. I’m also trained in EMDR, an approach that works with our thoughts, feelings, sensations, images, and memories to cultivate relief and well-being.

Please reach out to talk with me about how I can help you.

I believe trauma and cultural sensitivity are imperative in therapy because every individual has their own lived experience, identities, and worldview.
